Moyes Updates on Aguerd and Mavropanos Fitness

Stratford, London - West Ham United Women claimed a thrilling late draw at Aston Villa on Wednesday evening. The Hammers fell behind to a Rachel Daly penalty in the first half, but rallied back in the second period to earn a point thanks to a stunning late equalizer from Dagny Brynjarsdottir.

Historic Club Continues Impressive Run

West Ham, a historic and proud club that competes in the Premier League, the top tier of English football, have continued their impressive run of form this season. Under the guidance of manager David Moyes, the Hammers have scored in every game so far this campaign.

Against Aston Villa, Moyes was boosted by the return of center-back Issa Diop, who made his first appearance of the season after recovering from injury. However, the Hammers were without defender Nayef Aguerd and midfielder Thilo Kehrer, who are both nursing minor knocks.

Late Drama at Villa Park

West Ham fell behind in the 35th minute when Daly converted a penalty after Hawa Cissoko fouled Rachel Corsie in the box. The Hammers struggled to create clear-cut chances in the first half, but they came out stronger in the second period.

In the 78th minute, West Ham drew level when Brynjarsdottir fired a stunning strike into the top corner from outside the box. The Icelandic international has been in impressive form for the Hammers this season, scoring three goals in her last four appearances.

Moyes Praises Team Spirit

After the game, Moyes praised his team's spirit and determination to come back from a goal down.

"We didn't play well in the first half, but we showed great character to get back into the game," Moyes said. "Dagny's goal was a moment of brilliance, and it was a just reward for our efforts."

The draw leaves West Ham in fifth place in the Premier League table, just two points behind fourth-placed Manchester United.
