After 20 NBA Seasons, Veteran Guard Calls It a Career

Three-Time Sixth Man of the Year Ends Storied Career

Former NBA star Jamal Crawford has announced his retirement from professional basketball after a successful 20-year career. The 3-time Sixth Man of the Year award winner last played with the Brooklyn Nets during the 2018-19 season.

Crawford, born March 20, 1980, in Seattle, Washington, was drafted 8th overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2000 NBA draft. Over the course of his career, he played for 11 different teams, including the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Clippers, and Portland Trail Blazers.

Known for his explosive scoring and creative ball-handling, Crawford was one of the most dynamic and entertaining players in the NBA. He averaged 14.6 points per game in his career and won the Sixth Man of the Year award in 2010, 2014, and 2016.

Crawford's retirement marks the end of an era for the NBA. He was one of the last remaining players from the "golden era" of the league, having played alongside legendary players like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Tim Duncan.
