Late-Night Tornadoes Bring Destruction and Tragedy

A series of powerful and deadly tornadoes struck Oklahoma overnight, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. As of early Friday morning, at least two people have been confirmed dead, including an infant. The storms began developing on Thursday evening, forming a rapidly strengthening line that spawned several brief tornadoes across the state.

One of the most severe tornadoes touched down near Hominy, Oklahoma, just before 9:20 pm. The twister was reported to be large and extremely dangerous, causing significant damage in the area. Emergency responders are still assessing the full extent of the destruction, but early reports indicate that homes and businesses have been destroyed or damaged.

Tragically, two lives have been lost in the tornadoes. One victim was an infant who died in Hominy. Another victim was killed in Hughes County, Oklahoma. Authorities continue to search for additional victims and assess the damage.
